This is my first attempt at blogging or anything remotely related! This is a space for thoughts and images on faith and art...I welcome visitors to comment on my work and encourage you to share yours with me too. One of my favorite quotes is from Elizabeth Barrett Browning: "Earth is crammed with heaven. Every bush is aflame with the fire of God..." My aim in art is to reveal the Creator behind the created, sometimes in the simplest things that we often overlook.

Freezing cold cornfield

I was obsessed with cornfields last winter. I wanted to study them, shoot them (with a camera), paint them, etc. I am fascinated by patterns and rhythms found in nature, both originated by nature itself, and by the hand of man (or plow). Being still a novice oil painter, I was fairly happy to have captured the cold and stark feeling of this scene contrasted with the warmth of the old corn stubble.
